DGT Joins Chess2Change and promotes chess in Africa
This Sunday, June 14th, you have the chance to join a fantastic online event and help change lives through chess. DGT has already signed up!
Back to overview
At DGT, we believe that the connection between people and the exchange of knowledge make chess a meaningful experience. Through play, practice, and shared experiences, chess becomes a means for people to learn from one another, develop personally, and grow.
That is why we are excited to be part of events such as Chess2Change. In this edition, our CEO, Hans Pees, will participate together with Elizabeth Cassidy in the Hand & Brain tournament. In this format, each player brings something unique to the team: one chooses the piece, while the other decides the move.
This will be the second time Elizabeth and Hans play together. They also have a friendly internal competition to see who will be the first to reach a 2000 Elo rating. DGT is proud to sponsor Elizabeth on her journey to becoming a Grandmaster.
Hans’ participation in Chess2Change and the close collaboration between DGT and Business Meets Chess & Kids are part of DGT’s broader efforts to make chess more accessible in Africa. This commitment also extends to other initiatives, such as the Coast Open Chess Championship 2026, where DGT ensures that games can be shared and enjoyed by people around the world.
We are proud to contribute to projects that make chess more visible and accessible for players everywhere. You can support this cause by watching Chess2Change online on Chess.com. To learn more about the event, visit the Chess2Change website.
